No Prime Minister can sit on the throne of power for even a single minute when his hands are stained with the blood of the youth. The blood spilled on the streets of Kathmandu and other cities is not just blood — it is the ink with which history is being written.
Today, we have lost at least 19 young lives, and hundreds more are wounded. The pain is indescribable. Yet one thing is certain — if we remain silent after such sacrifice, our society will be dead. This is the time for Nepali society to prove that it is still alive.
Oli, Deuba, and Their Cohort — Cursed by History
Prime Minister Oli, do you still have the courage to sail your boat on the river of Gen Z’s blood? KP Sharma Oli, Sher Bahadur Deuba — your “driver” in power, armed commander Ramesh Ukhtar, and Communication Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung — who claims those with differing opinions must be silenced — history has already condemned you all.
Your exit from power is inevitable. Yet resignation alone cannot wash away this bloodstain. Even Panchayat rulers and the Rana regime did not commit such a brutal massacre. Under your rule, public property was looted, institutions became loyal only to you, and when the youth raised their voices, bullets were the response. That will forever be your mark in history.
The Weight of History
Every transformation in Nepal has been paid for with the sacrifice of youth. Four brave young people ended the 104-year Rana regime. In 2046, 19 martyrs gave their lives to end Panchayat rule. In 2062/63, 23 sacrificed themselves to end the Shah monarchy. But on Bhadra 23, 2082, at least 19 youths were martyred in a single day.
Is the ego of a few leaders worth so many lives? This is tyranny in its most extreme form.
Why Gen Z is in the Streets
Monday’s demonstrations by Gen Z were against corruption, misgovernance, and a political leadership that lives in luxury on the taxes of ordinary citizens. This voice is not just dissatisfaction — it is a demand for existence, rights, and accountability.
But instead of listening, the government fired bullets at students in college uniforms. This human loss is irreparable. Yet the sacrifice of these youth will ensure that history remembers Gen Z as the generation that stood tall against oppression.
Government Failure and Brutality
Prime Minister Oli and his team failed to even ask the most basic question: “What are your concerns?” For three days after the protest was announced, there was no dialogue or engagement. Instead, the Parliament area was turned into a battlefield.
Yes, movements can be infiltrated by opportunistic groups. But to shoot peaceful youth directly, chest-to-chest and head-to-head, in the name of infiltration? This is not only a failure of the police command but a crime for which the Home Minister and the Prime Minister must also be held accountable.
No official, not even the Prime Minister, can remain in office with youth blood on their hands.
The Path Ahead — Youth Will Rise Stronger
Gen Z activists have already committed to continuing the movement through moderation, peace, and legal channels. Monday’s tragedy serves as a painful lesson: the movement will now be stronger, more organized, and more disciplined.
19 martyrs have already fallen. Over 400 are in hospitals. This sacrifice cannot be in vain. If we remain silent, we are complicit. Our silence will kill our society.
Now is the time to stand alive, to carry forward the voice of Gen Z, and to ensure that their blood becomes the foundation of a just, accountable, and truly democratic Nepal.
✊ I stand with Gen Z. Their fight is our fight. Their sacrifice is our responsibility.
